Families of our Sunday School children (preschool through grade 5) are invited to a Lake Party after church this Sunday at the Flannery home (139 Cove Creek Rd, Mooresville). The party will be from Noon to 3 pm, and we will furnish pizza and beverages. Please feel free to bring snacks or desserts to share. All children will need a life jacket to be in the lake. This is another wonderful opportunity for fellowship this summer. Please RSVP to Ginger Missert (704) 664-7197 if you are planning on attending so she knows how much pizza to bring. In an effort to realign our worship with the church's canons, and to provide a streamlined Prayers of the People which is enriching for all congregants, we have changed the way we pray for others during worship. Specific names will no longer be read aloud during the Prayers of the People. A list of submitted names and occasions for thanksgiving will be provided in the worship bulletin. A reference to these will be made during the Prayers, as well as an opportunity for congregants to offer 'aloud or in silence' any additional names of persons they wish to prayerfully and liturgically submit to God. Since many names will now be listed in the bulletin, we encourage you to take these names home with you and continue to pray for them throughout the week. Should you desire to offer a name and/or occasion for thanksgiving to be printed in the Sunday bulletin, please inform Beryl Frey in the church office. If requested, Beryl will keep the name automatically listed for up to four weeks, at which time a resubmitted request will be necessary. In the midst of this change we give thanks to God, knowing that all prayers, in all forms, are heard and answered in accordance with Divine wisdom and love. Please mark your calendar's for Sunday, September 2nd. On this Sunday during the 10:30am service we will liturgically give thanks for Pam's many years as Director of Youth Ministries and bless her as she begins her discernment process to the priesthood. A reception honoring Pam will follow the service. Also, we are accepting contributions towards a gift for Pam. After so many years of lost spousal time on weekends due to the demands of her position, we would like to provide Pam and Mark Hatley a getaway weekend vacation. If you would like to contribute, please make checks payable to "Saint Patrick's" and note "Pam Hatley Gift Fund" on the memo line. You may submit these clearly marked contributions in the lose plate offering or directly to the church office.
If you are desirous of pastoral support from one of our clergy or our lay pastoral leadership, we ask that you inform the church office directly. Please do not rely on word-of-mouth which often does not make it to us. Thank you, and God's peace.

Based on press reports, many of you aware that the National Episcopal Church's triennial General Convention took place last week. You've probably also heard some information about the proceedings; some factual, some errant. More will be forthcoming from our Diocesan office in the coming weeks concerning the events and legislation of General Convention, but in the meantime, please watch this video clip from Bishop Curry made just before the conclusion of General Convention. For those of you that are not aware, Tommy Weeks has moved from Mooresville to Winston-Salem to be closer to his daughter Sherry and her family. For anyone wishing to write to him or send cards, his address and telephone number is listed below.
