Please join us for worship this Sunday at 8:30 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. As this Sunday is the first Sunday of the month, there will be no Christian Education for children. Children are to worship in Church with their families. Christian Education for adults takes place from 9:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. There will be no youth education class this week due to the beach retreat.
Our Adult Forum in the Sanctuary this Sunday will be led by one of Saint Patrick's favorites - Rabbi Barbara Thiede. Rabbie Thiede will present a program titled "Jewish Theology." Jesus was a follower of the Jewish religion. The disciples, the originators of the church, were also followers of the Jewish religion. It, therefore, makes great sense for modern-day Christians to learn about the Jewish religion. Such engagement enriches our understanding of our Christian heritage. Please join us int he Sanctuary at 9:30 a.m.
Due to a scheduling conflict, please note that there will be no Choir Rehearsal next Tuesday, May 8th. Rehearsals will resume on May 15. Choir members: Please spread the word! Please find links to important documents from the Bishop's office in Raleigh. The first is a letter stating the opposition of the Diocese to the proposed Amendment One to the Constitution of the State of North Carolina. Additionally we have included a text of some theological reflections offered by Bishop Curry at a forum on Amendment One. Our Rector Mark Forbes recommends both of these important documents to your reading. (Click on the blue, underlined words to open the documents). Many thanks to all those who attended our first Solas Leighis concert. A consummate artist, Stephen entertained us for over 2 hours with music ranging from show tunes, to the Beatles, to original compositions. He was very gracious at the reception and we raised funds for Solace. All-on-all, a successful event.
A Taste of Wine on Main, Saint Patrick's annual event which raises much needed funds for our Food for Friends ministry, will take place on Friday evening, May 25th from 6:30 to 9:00 pm. Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door. Read the details here
