An Event For Webelos II
WTCSRMAP

A significant part of any Order of the Arrow Lodge is it's commitment to Webelos Program and Nanepashemet Lodge is no different. A Webelos Scout is a Cub who is at a point of transition into the Boy Scout ranks. At this time in a Cub's journey, learning leadership skills basic Scouting skills are important for growth. The Arrowmen of Nanepashemet, being honor campers, pass on their knowledge to these growing cubs in hopes they too will some day pass on their skills. One program that is critical for the growth of a Webelos Scout is the Arrow of Light Weekend. The cubs are provided a weekend staffed by experienced OA members of the lodge. An exciting and vigorous program has been planned for the whole weekend. The weekend will include some of the skills and requirements needed for the Arrow of Light Award as well as the Webelos Outdoorsman and Readyman Activity Badges.

AOLTUG Wah-Tut-Ca Scout Reservation serves as a place to incorporate teamwork and fellowship. The weekend will also give the boys a taste of the ultimate Scouting experience: Summer Camp. We're planning a true Wah-Tut-Ca style Dining Hall experience, and many other activities in and around camp. Hands on activities and games encourage the Webelos Scouts to put their heads and their hands together to make light work and problem solve. Allowing the Webelos to understand teamwork, brotherhood, scout spirit, and most importantly, fun, makes for a great start in their Boy Scout endeavors. This weekend serves as and introduction to the concept of "youth led" as opposed to "adult led". It is our goal to foster a desire in these young scouts to continue in the Scouting program and become tomorrow's leaders.

AOLKIDSThis weekend has been specifically designed for the 2nd year Webelos Scout (Webelos II) who will be transitioning to a Boy Scout Troop in the spring of 2011. We hope that by choosing Wah-Tut-Ca Scout Reservation as our setting the Webelos II scout will be encouraged to sign up for Summer Camp with their troop in the summer of 2011.

Campfires In CampsitesCAMPFIRES

Campfires are a great part of Scout camp and the AOL Weekend. We ask that you follow a few simple guidelines. For cub events, fires in campsites must be attended by an adult at all times. Fires and the use of woods tools: (saws, axes, and hatchets) should be in accordance with BSA Guide to Safe Scouting. There is no cutting of standing trees at WTCSR. Contain fires to the fire pits already in the campsite. Fires must be out cold when you leave your campsite or retire for the night.

Cars in Camp

For emergency access and to preserve the outdoor experience, we do not allow cars in campsites or parking along the camp road. Due to the number of participants and the nature of our camp roads, we cannot allow cars to go to the campsites to drop off gear. We do provide a gear shuttle on Friday night and Sunday morning. A truck will help take your gear from your car to your campsite. Please pack your gear accordingly. Please observe the camp speed limit of 10 MPH. Thank you for your cooperation.
