"Liz was great to work with. She was always available to answer questions & provide advice & support.  As a first time home buyer I had lots of questions about the steps & issues involved in securing a mortgage & purchasing a house.  Liz was great at breaking the steps down & explaining the process.  It made the whole experience a lot less stressful.  I would absolutely work with Liz again in the future"

I'm sad to tell you I said good-bye to my old buddy Sonny late this summer.
After 12 years my home & office felt pretty empty without a dog, so I now share my space with Truffle, a 9 week old Standard Poodle puppy.
Yikes! I forgot how much work a puppy is.  :-)  Good thing she's super cute.
Here she is in my office snoring away.truffle 8 wk office

You may be ready for winter, but is your home?

CMHC recently suggested that homeowners take the following steps to "help avoid the most common & costly problems before they occur."

Homeowners need to clean out eaves troughs & spouts from debris like leaves - making sure that water will flow where it is intended to - away from the home's foundation.

Now is the time to get non-electric heating systems serviced, before the cold sets in - along with the busy season. Also check chimneys and combustion vents for debris.

Words to Live By...

When I was 17, I read a quote that went something like: "If you live each day as if it was your last, someday you'll most certainly be right." It made an impression on me, & since then, for the past 33 years, I have looked in the mirror every morning & asked myself: "If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?" And whenever the answer has been "No" for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something.

This quote was taken from Steve Job's Commencement Address to the 2005 graduating class from Stanford.

Several weeks ago Canadian economists were predicting a possible 0.25% increase in the Bank of Canada rate this September with a total increase of 1% by the end of 2012.

BUT NOW.....

... the US is in crisis & it appears their economic recovery is not happening as they hoped. In the past week our economists have started saying they do NOT expect the Bank of Canada to raise their overnight lending rate.  In fact, they think the Bank of Canada may even decrease their rate if we need to encourage our export business.

SO.... Should you lock in your variable rate mortgage?  Should you pay out your existing mortgage and payout penalty to take advantage of the low rates?

Call me.  Let's take a look.  There are no costs in exploring your options!

Be well
