During the course of a week, campers will learn about and touch real historic artifacts, explore the 125 year history of the Plano Fire Department (PFD), participate in hands-on demonstrations with the PFD, including a bucket brigade, meet fire fighters, try on bunker gear, learn how to handle an active fire hose, and work in teams to gather and research different clues to help create the exhibit Fire Boys: The Legacy of the Plano Fire Department. The opening for this unique exhibit will occur at the PFD's 125th Birthday Bash on Saturday, June 23.
The camp runs June 18-22, 2012 from 9am - 1pm, after care is available until 5pm. The cost is $40 a day or $175 for the week and the recommended ages are 8 and over. An exhibition opening and all-day co-sponsored event with the PFD will take place on Saturday, June 23, 2012 from 10am - 3pm on the museum grounds at 1900 West 15th Street.
