From the Executive Director...
We here at the Farmstead can't believe it is May! So many wonderful people have come through our doors, we've hosted many events, and we aren't even half way through the year yet! We recently hosted our Home School Resource Day: From Sheep to Shawl event where the Farmstead saw upwards of 300 in attendance!
With the success of our Volunteer Fair we have added many new smiling faces to our volunteer program. We have upcoming docent trainings to train these new volunteers to provide the public with guided tours of the Farrell-Wilson House and Farmstead, as well as, school tour groups. We know that the Heritage Farmstead Museum would not be able to do all that we do without the help of our wonderful volunteers. We hope all volunteers, old and new, will be able to join us in our appreciation luncheon.
As the school tours come to an end for summer vacation, we are planning many exciting summer events. It is truly a wonderful time of renewal and growth for the museum and we look forward to sharing it with you!

The City of Plano Animal Services recently visited the Farmstead for their annual review and inspection of the HFM livestock and livestock management records.
Upon review of our records and care they were highly complementary and gave the Farmstead a Gold Standard. Way to go Farm and Grounds Crew! |
