News from Evangelist Mike Gendron
June 2012
Greetings in the Name of Jesus,

The Learn to Discern Conference in Mission, British Columbia, Canada last month was blessed by the powerful preaching of God's Word. Hundreds of attendees were exhorted to contend earnestly for the faith in these days of growing apostasy and deception. One of my three messages was an exhortation for believers to discern God's Way of evangelism from man's way. Those who evangelize man's way may not realize they are helping the adversary plant tares and false converts in Christ's church.

The conference encouraged Christians to judge and test all things using the supreme authority of God's Word. Paul exhorted: "I pray that your love may abound still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve the things that are excellent, in order to be sincere and blameless until the day of Christ" (Phil. 1:9-10). The apostle John warned and exhorted Christians: "Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world" (I John 4:1). Clearly, all Christians are called to judge righteously by using the Word of God as the plumb line for discerning truth from error. Spiritual discernment is a discipline and a privilege that only Christians can exercise. Paul wrote: "But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he who is spiritual judges all things." (1 Cor. 2:14-16). May God give us all more discernment and the boldness to speak the truth in love to those who are victims of deception. Consider what is at stake if we don't - the glory and sufficiency of our Savior, the purity of His Gospel and the sanctity of His Church.
Pope Continues to Woo Anglicans Home to Rome
Pope Benedict XVI continues the expansion of the new Catholic Church structure created for former Anglicans by launching an ordinariate for Australia on June 15. "I am confident that those former Anglicans who have made a journey in faith that has led them to the Catholic Church will find a ready welcome," said Archbishop Hart, president of the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference. The ordinariate is intended for Anglicans and former Anglicans who wish to enter full communion with the Catholic Church. As of January, 1,400 individuals from 22 communities have expressed interest in joining, the U.S. ordinariate. Catholic Cardinal Denies Adam and Eve Existed
Cardinal George Pell, head of the Roman Catholic archdiocese of Sydney, Australia, says Adam and Eve didn't exist. Appearing alongside atheist Richard Dawkins on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation's Q&A program, Pell said the Bible's account of Adam & Eve "is a very sophisticated mythology to try to explain the evil and the suffering in the world." He said it is impossible to say when there was a first human, referring to his belief that man evolved from the animal kingdom. The foolish "cardinal" thus turns the Bible into a fairy tale and makes the prophets and Jesus Christ out to be either deceived or liars. Why would Catholics trust their clergy for the truth concerning their salvation when they cannot trust them for the truth concerning creation. Their foolish error is soundly rebuked by the authority of God's Word. Adam is mentioned by name 31 times in the Bible. He is treated as an historical man by the author of Luke (Luke 3:38), Paul (Rom. 5:14; 1 Cor. 1:15:22, 45; 1 Tim. 2:13-14), and Jude (Jude 14). In Matthew 19:4-5, Jesus quoted Genesis 1:27 and Genesis 2:24 and stated unequivocally that God created the first man and woman. Read more.
The Virgin Mary is the Greatest Source of Hope
mary
Cardinal Antonio Canizares, prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship, called the Virgin Mary the "greatest source of hope" during the economic crisis now facing most of the countries of Europe. His remarks came during the largest celebration in honor of the Blessed Mother at Virgin Mary Square in Valencia, Spain. During his homily, the cardinal said devotion to Mary is especially important "during the difficult times of our life. His message echos the messages from heaven given by apparitions of Mary. They are some of the lying signs and wonders Satan is using to deceive the world. This Cardinal would do well to read the words of the Apostle Paul who wrote, "I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds will be led astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ" (2 Cor. 11:3). How blessed is he whose help is God, whose hope is in the Lord his God (Psalm 146:5). Letters from Around the World
Letters
Mike, As believers in Christ, how should we respond when pastors encourage ecumenical unity and invite the world into the church (for the love of numbers and results)? The difficulty in finding churches that are Scripturally sound is not unique. The harsh reality is that every local denomination has been compromised or corrupted on some level and many believers are struggling to find churches in their areas that are still devoted to preaching the true Gospel of Jesus Christ. Your ministry must receive hundreds of messages from saints who are all experiencing the same thing within their localities. I wish that there was a way that remnant believers could check something for the express purpose of coming together in one faith (Eph 4.5-6) wherever they lived. Your spiritual insight into the above question would be deeply appreciated. T. and B. A., Marietta, OH

Dear T. and B.,
Your situation is a growing problem within the church. Many pastors have discarded our Lord's blueprint for building His Church because they know they can attract more people using worldly marketing methods. In their quest to seek the approval of man (over God), they make the Gospel more inclusive This type of strategy results in pastors spending more time entertaining the goats than feeding the sheep. These pastors don't realize they are not building the Lord's church but their own. We must remind them that Jesus is building His church by calling repenting sinners out of the world for His glory and purpose. They have been sanctified (set apart) by the truth and need the full counsel of God's Word to grow into maturity (Acts 2:47; 4:4; 5:14; 11:21). Approach your pastor with your concern and ask him to explain his call for ecumenical unity in light of 2 Cor. 6:14-18. Pastors who are committed to Christ and His Word will repent when lovingly confronted by the truth of Scripture.

Mr. Gendron, I am looking at your articles and newsletters in an honest manner and, while it would be somewhat unstable of me to renounce Catholicism after one week, I am feeling the heat from the light of truth in my soul. In effect, your writings are cutting away much of the fat that surrounded my practice of religion. For instance, I am getting Mary back in her proper role, of being blessed among women. The scales are falling off, and I am seeing clearly. Thank you for this, you are on the right track. Catholics are getting further and further entrenched in their dogmas, and are constantly adding elements that prevent Christ being placed at the front and center of our lives. I really am starting to get it. John B., Internet

Mr. Gendron, You are evil and deceptive. You are a false prophet. You are a thief, the Bible does not belong to you. So quote something of your own. You use someone else's gift. Make an effort to understand what the Bible means. Your god is not Jesus. Freddie, Internet

Remembering the Reformation
Hus
Bohemian Jan Hus was ex-communicated in 1410 by Pope Alexander V for his writings which exposed many errors of the Catholic religion including simony, transubstantiation, absolution by a priest and unconditional obedience to the pope. Soon after, he was arrested and cast into a dungeon. He was confronted with his "heresies" and given the choice of recanting or burning. He said he could recant only if he could be proven wrong by Scripture. As the flames burned around him he sang out, "Christ thou Son of the Living God, have mercy upon me." Read more.

Debate on Mary Exposes the Error of Catholicism

My good friend Cecil Andrews, founder of Take Heed Ministries in Northern Ireland recently debated a Jesuit Roman Catholic priest on "Who Is Mary According to Scripture?" The priest was no match for God's Word. Cecil used the Scriptures as his authority to expose the counterfeit Mary of Catholicism. The debate was broadcast on May 15th on Revelation TV from London England and can now be seen here.

A Testimony of Preparing for Eternity
We received an encouraging testimony from Karen who attended the Worldview Weekend in Branson. She wrote: "I stopped by your table for resources to share with a coworker who is Catholic and thinks it is unloving to say Catholics are wrong. I asked for something "gentle" to help her see the Truth. I purchased your book Preparing for Eternity and started reading it. What a blessing it was to ME! I had been born into the Catholic religion and spent 28 years guilt ridden and trying to be good enough so I could be saved. Your book (which I really didn't want and cannot believe I actually purchased) has been of immense help in equipping me be an effective witness to Catholics. I pray that the Lord will lead me to speak the truth in love with my mother and coworker and that He will open their eyes.  The fear and guilt of Catholicism is so binding and blinding that I am amazed at the Grace of God that brought me out of that bondage. How Gracious and Merciful He has been to me."
Heckled By Catholic Church Bells

A Roman Catholic priest admitted he was intentionally trying to drown out the preaching of the gospel with his church bells. As you watch the video see if you can which part of the message was most offended the priest - the Word of God, the Law of God, or the Gospel. Click here.
