Pin and Win! Blog and Hog...
ok, maybe that one is a stretch!
Send us your ideas so we can "pin" them on our Pinterest boards and be automatically entered to win some free goodies from our online store!
All you have to do is send us your idea with a picture included or the link to where you have posted the idea along with your contact information.
Monthly we will choose one lucky pinner to go shopping on us.
Here are some featured pins from our
September/Respect Pinterest idea board:
Anchor charts are best practice in today's classrooms
and have the most impact when they are created together as a class.
All you need is chart paper, a marker, and your class to get this one underway. Kids need more than a definition - that's why we have created such a wealth of activities within our curriculum to teach each value. When we boil it down to the very basics (inward attitudes) we must tell and show kids exactly what we mean...and this anchor chart helps you do so. Concrete words and expectations can only lead to solid outward behaviors.
Check out this great way to visually remind students of the value this month.
Have them work together to create a unique piece of art that not only communicates a message but teaches them respect as they work as a team.
Another visual reminder...but we want to take it to the next creative level.
Try using paper plates as the sun's center and have students place their sun rays radiating from the paper plate. On each ray have students write one way they might show respect. This way each child gets to have a very hands on part in making a decoration piece that can be spread around the whole school. Consider hanging them in hallways, doors, etc. all in an effort to spread the sunshine...we mean respect!
If you are interested in contributing to our blog,
please email info@coreessentials.org
for more information. We love to feature guest bloggers and if you or your school has a story to share, niche or expertise we can learn from...then you are just the contributor we are looking for. And we will let you "hog" some store goodies in exchange for your "blog" - see the rhyming connection there? Ok...yeah, we don't either!
