job newspaper

Greetings!

In the article Body Language Can Make or Break a Job Interview, Robert Ordona suggests that there are many different ways that you can use body language during your job interview.  Job seekers know how important choosing the right words is when talking with prospective employers. But what about non verbal communication? Are you prepared?

Some Tips are:

Making a Great Entrance
"Your body should tell anyone who might be watching that you're confident and calm. It's not the time to be frantically searching through your portfolio for printouts of your resume."

Important Steps
When walking you should try to "mirror" company representative's tempo and demeanor. "It shows you can easily fit into the environment."

Departing

At the end of the interview, calmly gather your belongings, rise smoothly, and smile. If shaking hands with everyone in the room isn't convenient, at least shake hands with the hiring manager and the person who brought you to the interview space.
