Greetings!
In a recent edition of a magazine produced by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), making use of the services and programs at your career center was identified as being a critical component in the overall success of a student in locating a job after attending college.
Other key components included suceeding in the classroom, starting your job search early in your collegiate career, working and growing your network, doing research into industries and employers, taking on campus leadership positions, sharpening your resume, honing your interview skills, and taking part in internships or co-ops.
Use the resources at your disposal. The people working in your career center are a wealth of knowledge and experience. They qualify as part of your network. Use them accordingly.
For more information on our Career Link newsletter please contact Danielle Espinoza (despinoza66@alamo.edu), Larry Carter (lcarter32@alamo.edu), or Nora Esparza (nesparza@alamo.edu). |
