Veteran's Appreciation Day

Veterans, their families and any other visitors are invited to see the revamped Veteran's Room as well as view displays from their collection of military and veteran's items in other rooms of the museum.

 

The museum is open on Thursdays from 9am to noon, and beginning May 15th through September it will also be open on Sundays from 1-4pm.  You may contact the museum at 815.732.7545, or for additional info on programs and tours, contact Bill Bailey at 815.732.7002.

B.F. Sheets HomeThe Oregon Library is hosting a presentation by Otto Dick, local historian, on the home located at the corner of Illinois Route 64 and 7th Street.  This home was built in 1905 by B.F. Sheets, and recently restored by Doug and Cheryl Climenhaga.  All are welcome to attend.  Freewill donations will be gratefully accepted.

Don't miss this one day intro to Spring plant sale.  Perennials and annuals will be available to purchase.  On the lawn of the Nash Recreation Center


The Tipi's Are Back

TipiIf you are driving through Oregon you will notice the "Trail of Tipi's" is back in place.  There are 23 authentic Sioux tipis designed and painted by local artists and residents showing their personal connection to the Native culture that flourished in Oregon.  Follow this link for a map of their location and online brochure showing the tipis.
