Oregon Coliseum

Nestled in the scenic Rock River Valley, surrounded by three state parks and a state forest, with unlimited recreation and wildlife viewing opportunities, Oregon is a great place to put on your map.  We look forward to seeing you and getting to know you in the coming months!

 Oregon Candlelight Walk
.................................................................................

SantaIt's a tradition!  Bring the family out for an evening of fun with the sights and sounds of Christmas all around.  Join us for Oregon's 24th Annual Candlelight Walk on Saturday, November 27th.  Festivities begin at 4:00pm in the Oregon Coliseum and continue throughout the evening all around downtown and in Conover Square until 9:00pm.

Take a ride on a horse drawn carriage, pet a reindeer, have your picture taken with Santa Claus and enjoy the Christmas music and refreshments as you walk throughout downtown.

The Coliseum will serve as a warming station as well as host the Holiday Gift Fair.  A visit to Conover Square will allow you to see the display of Gingerbread Houses, their Festival of Trees and enjoy their unique shops.

For more information on the evening's activities, check out the Candlelight Flyer and Map.

Holiday Activities

Sinnissippi Forest Tree Farm has closed ........ However, you can still make the journey to Oregon to pick out your tree and wreath, enjoy horse drawn carriage rides and visit with Santa.  Beginning the Friday after Thanksgiving, November 26th,  White Pines Inn  will be setting up their Christmas Tree Forest within the White Pines Forest.

Of course, you can't cut down the trees in the state park, so they are bringing in pre-cut Frasier Firs, Scotch Pines and White Pines.  Walk among the forest wonderland and find your perfect tree, no saw needed!  And, while you are there, warm up by the fireplace in their rustic log lodge, enjoy some home style cooking, stay in one of their cozy cabins and enjoy a horse drawn wagon ride on the weekends.

Oregon Trail Days LogoLooking for an inexpensive but unique gift to hand out for Christmas?  Oregon Trail Days is selling 2011 Calendars filled to the brim with photos from the hugely successful first year event held this past July.  The calendars are chuck full of pictures that include the Tipis, Cowboys, Johnny Cash, Native Americans and much more.  The Lions Club breakfast and 8k Run-a-muck are also featured.

Proceeds from the sale of these colorful calendars will go toward the 2011 festival, a celebration of the 100th anniversary of Black Hawk and of course towards the restoration of the Black Hawk Statue.

The calendars are $20 each and can be ordered by calling or e-mailing Amy at 815-732-2435 or [email protected] or they may be purchased at the Eagles Nest, White Pines, Merlin's and the Benchmark. They will also be available at Oregon's Candlelight Walk in the Coliseum.
