40th Annual Autumn on Parade

Autumn On Parade - October 2nd and 3rd
The Autumn on Parade Festival was initiated in 1970 as a means of attracting visitors to the beautiful Rock River Valley and Oregon, Illinois. The Festival showcases the best of Ogle County - Our People, Our Place and Our Products.
Saturday features the Art & Crafts Farmer's Market on the courthouse square & surrounding area.....over 170 vendors. Enjoy the food court, tour Stronghold Castle and the Chana School, take a look at the classic cars and tractors at Oregon Park East, and much, much more.
Start Sunday off with breakfast at the VFW, continue enjoying the arts and crafts around the courthouse square, and save your seat for the Harvest Time Parade which kicks off at 1:00pm. Over 100 entries will be participating, including the Jesse White Tumblers and the South Shore Drill Team.

Fall Hikes and Fall Colors
Castle Rock State Park
| If you are looking for some great places to hike or to see the fall colors, put these on your list. Lowden-Miller State Forest, White Pines State Park, Castle Rock State Park and Lowden State Park (home of the statue of Blackhawk). Enjoy a walk on the trails, view the wildlife, climb to the top of Castle Rock and view the Rock River Valley in all of its splendor, or just go for a leisurely drive along Rt. 2 and enjoy the fall colors.
Oregon Candlelight Walk Kick off the Holiday Season at Oregon's 24th Annual Candlelight Walk. Enjoy the sights and sounds of Christmas in downtown Oregon and in Conover Square. Warm up and enjoy some cookies and a glass of apple cider at the Oregon Coliseum, take a tour around town on the horse-drawn carriage rides, and visit with Santa Claus......put it on your calendar!
Christmas Trees !!!!!
Sinnissippi Forest Tree Farm has closed ........ However, you can still make the journey to Oregon to pick out your tree and wreath, enjoy horse drawn carriage rides and visit with Santa. Beginning the Friday after Thanksgiving, November 26th, White Pines Inn will be setting up their Christmas Tree Forest within the White Pines Forest. Stay tuned for more information !
