PONDER THIS:
When our theology, our Christian theology, moves beyond describing our own experience of God to prescribing what God may or may not do or be or become, then we have created a God in our own image, a God who is far too small for this very complex world.

 Christmas in July!
Yes we are starting work on the Christmas Bazaar! We need someone to help Veronica with the crafters. (She has stepped up to take Sue's place.) We need help with green gathering box wood trees, candy wreaths, Christmas flower arrangements and swags. Please consider taking a small part in the bazaar... do it with a friend... it will be fun!

Parishioners!  Rent a table at the bazaar!  If you want a space at the bazaar, please call Veronica Garabedian at 443-867-8634 before we send out the letters to the crafters on July 10.

The Haiti Women's Vocational Center needs your help.

Someone is needed to handle the collection this summer of supplies for the Women's Vocational Center at the school in Haiti. A group is going down in October and we want to send the supplies with them. Please call Gladys at 410-647-8061.

Men of St. Martin's will not meet on July 7 , 2012. The group is in the re-organization process and is open to new ideas and formats. Please contact Chris Werth at 443-852-4679 or e-mail at: crw_40@hotmail.com with your thoughts and/or ideas.
Calling all Apostates!

(Just kidding! But we bet it got your attention!)

The discussion group on contemporary Christian theologians representing different points of view is filling up quickly.  We will be meeting on alternate Wednesday evenings beginning in September.  The first book we will discuss is co-authored by N.T. Wright  and Marcus Borg, and the second is by Bishop Spong. If you are interested, please contact Sylvia Marston (sizzle34@verizon.net) or Martha Nicholson (mbndbn@msn.com) straight away  so that we can order the books for you.  The approximate cost for the first two books will be $50.

Stephen Ministry - "Why Lay Ministry?"

Stephen Ministry is based on the idea that all Christians are ministers. The responsibility of passing on God's love for people is not just for a chosen few, but also for all Christians who have been chosen to be God's children. Likewise, the joy of helping others is the privilege of all Christians, those who have been given power by the Holy Spirit for doing ministry. Do you feel a calling to assume the responsibility of effectively caring for others who are hurting? Do you desire the personal joy that comes from sharing Christ's love with people? The next training class starts on Saturday, October 13th. If you want to know more about how to become a Stephen Minister, or would like a Stephen Minister's care, please call Doris+ or Pierre-Henry+ at the church office or Libby Olton at 410-544-5807 or Jeff Hider, 410-987-1135.
