MISSION
The Toby Project will end the killing of more than 10,000 dogs and cats each year in New York City's municipal animal shelters by preventing the births of unwanted dogs and cats. We will make New York City a true "no-kill' city by delivering free and low-cost spay/neuter services to all five boroughs of New York City using both mobile surgical vans and stationary clinics specifically designed for this purpose.
By reaching out to targeted communities, our aim is to prevent the breeding of the very dogs and cats whose offspring account for most of the animals relinquished to our municipal shelters, where they are often killed. We also work through the feral rescue community to help reduce populations of neighborhood cat colonies by providing free spay/neuter services to TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) groups.

Picture of the week:
I often challenge other dog trainers to take unleashed dogs to the play next to the highway with traffic going by at 65 mph and work on recall training. Does your dog come back to you 100% of the time, does your dog turn on a dime in order to not run out in traffic? If this is something you are interested in learning about, you may want to give me a call.

The No Kill Equation
If every animal shelter in the United States embraced the No Kill philosophy and the programs and services that make it possible, we would save nearly four million dogs and cats who are scheduled to die in shelters this year, and the year after that. It is not an impossible dream.
