My Favorite Things

Compression gear is one of the hottest items for athletes right now, and for good reason - it helps with recovery, and the faster you recover the more quality training you get, and the faster/stronger you get.

There are two kind of compression gear available, so you need to make sure you wear the right compression at the right time.
Active compression (for use when training) increases muscle stability, enhances circulation, and reduces muscle fatigue.
Recovery compression (for use post training) reduces lactic acid levels, prevents soreness, and reduces swelling and pain.
There are many companies producing different kinds of compression wear, and while Zoot is definitely one of my top favorites, there is a new player on the market as well.
110% produces some of the latest in training and recovery gear, with a unique pocket feature that fuses the already important benefits of compression with the elemental power of ice. I thought this was brilliant as I usually wear my compression pants, while walking around with an inconvenient and awkward ice bag or belt to try to ice various muscles in my legs at the same time.
I love this product and even though the ice doesn't stay cold as long as I would like, I still think it's a great tool to use for recovery.
I can't wait for them to start making the top shirt with ice bags - my pinched shoulder nerve will love that!!
An added bonus is that they provide reusable ice sheets, and a unique resuable package/tote/thermal bag to take on the road.
110% - 'Reusable, Renewable, Responsible, Awesome'
You can find 110% compression products at Richardson Bike Mart. There will be a 110% representative at the RBM Richardson location on December 2-3. |

Playtri is proud to announce the details for its first annual Collegiate Training Camp in conjunction with the South Midwest Region! The camp will be March 11-13, 2011 at the Spirit of the West Resort in Tioga, TX. The Spirit of the West Resort is located on beautiful Lake Ray Roberts, and is within a mile of some of the best riding in the north Texas area. The camp will be an opportunity for collegiate athletes to escape the daily pressures of school and work, while focusing entirely on triathlon in preparation for the biggest collegiate event of the year - the USAT Collegiate National Championship. Athletes will get to work with Playtri's experienced staff of USAT-certified coaches, taking advantage of intense training sessions, hands-on clinics, informative lectures, and break out sessions. In addition, all lodging and meals will be included in the exceptionally low cost of the event, in order to better accommodate the budgets of these students. Collegiate Athletes - REGISTER NOW
All-inclusive cost is $199 (includes lodging, food, coaching fees, event t-shirt, and more). Discounts will be offered for teams registering a certain number of athletes. We also hope to make scholarships available to deserving students - if you would like to sponsor a student's attendance, please contact us at info@playtri.com. Please contact Assistant Camps Director Morgan Johnson at morgan@playtri.com for more information, or visit the Playtri website at www.playtri.com.
