OnAir starts operations in Asia
Mobile OnAir goes live onboard AirAsia A320 aircraft with Maxis' support
AirAsia and OnAir launched inflight connectivity services aboard the low cost carrier's Airbus A320s.
Passengers flying on South East Asian routes from Kuala Lumpur LCC airport to destinations including Singapore, Hong-Kong, Bangkok or Colombo can now stay connected with their friends, family and business colleagues.
Maxis is the key marketing partner of OnAir and AirAsia for this service and provides the full promotion of the GSM in-flight service to passengers. OnAir sees enormous potential in Asia and growing demand for, and acceptance of inflight connectivity right across the region - in fact, an acceleration of interest very much as experienced over recent years in the Middle East. Together AirAsia, Maxis and OnAir are combining the stature of an established carrier, with a deep knowledge of Malaysian mobile customers and an innovative but proven service - all at an affordable price. This launch sets the direction for inflight connectivity which other airlines will quickly follow. |

Within 2 to 3 years, OnAir is convinced that all airlines will demand this level of onboard mobile communications. |
