About OnAir

OnAir provides industry-leading, on-board connectivity solutions that enable passengers to stay connected while they travel, and airlines and shipping lines to differentiate themselves through offering distinct services to customers. Present aboard airlines on four continents, OnAir provides the only air-travel industry sponsored solution for commercial airlines, private and corporate jets, Airbus and Boeing aircraft, and for long and short-haul flights. OnAir is the first provider of services based on SwiftBroadband (SBB), the latest high-bandwidth satellite technology from Inmarsat, which offers GSM and GPRS for voice, data and Internet.

Complete inflight connectivity solution to be installed on Emirates' flagship Airbus A380 fleet
 
All 90 of the flagship, double-decker aircraft operating on long-haul intercontinental routes will be equipped with full Mobile OnAir and Internet OnAir in-flight passenger communications services.

This will allow passengers to use their mobile phones, smartphones and BlackBerrydevices onboard Emirates A380 aircraft to make voice calls, send SMS text messages or utilise data services wirelessly to their iPod™, iPhone, iPad and laptops equipped with GPRS modems.
 
Emirates A380Emirates have established themselves as pioneers of in-flight connectivity. OnAir is very proud that after rigorous evaluation, Emirates have chosen our leading technology for their flagship aircraft fleet.
 
The first fully OnAir-equipped Emirates A380 will come into service in June 2012. 
 
Emirates will commence installation of the OnAir connectivity features on its A380 aircraft at the beginning of 2011, allowing passengers to access the Internet via WiFi on personal portable devices such as laptops, smartphones and mobile telephones. Mobile OnAir along with Inmarsat uses the industry's most advanced and extensive infrastructure for mobile communications, providing Emirates passengers global connectivity.

MS EUROPA 
The launch, with a cruise of the Baltic sea, marks an extension of OnAir's business into a new and promising sector, and underlines the versality of OnAir's technology in being able to use various types of satellite links.
 
OnAir's technological partners, Siemens IT Solutions and Services and TriaGnoSys, developed technology to enable passengers and crew to use their own mobile phones and Smartphones (iPhone, Blackberry©, HTC, etc). The GSM services uses satellite communications, making connectivity possible regardless of the ship's location.
 
With Hapag Lloyd Cruises' passengers voyaging to destinations like the Baltics, Polynesia and New Zealand, this service really does underline OnAir's position as the only truly global communications provider of voice, data and Internet both in the air and on the oceans.
