November 2010

Greetings!

We here at Deerassic hope you had a safe and enjoyable Halloween weekend.  We wrapped up our Petrified Forest last Saturday and had a great turn-out.  Over the last three Saturdays we had almost 1,000 people come out to the trail.  The Petrified Forest was able to raise $1,000 for the Buckeye Trail High School Seniors for their Senior Trip.

The 6th Annual Family Fall Festival was also a great success.  There were around 1,500 kids and parents that attended the day long festival.  Deerassic would like to thank all of our volunteers and local business who helped out with the event and made it possible.

PCBA Deer

Deerassic Park hosted the annual Physcially Challenged Bowhunters of America Ohio Hunt in October.  This was the first year that the hunt was held in Guernsey County (hunters hunted at local farms around the park).  Out of the 10 hunters, 4 were able to harvest deer; including the largest buck taken at any Ohio hunt in the past 16 years.  Everyone had a great time and we would like to thank everyone who helped make this event happen.
