ACPE-CPSP Joint Statement |
By ACPE President Sally Schwab
On November 30, 2010 the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE) met for mediation with the College of Pastoral Supervision and Psychotherapy (CPSP). Our meeting was facilitated by Judge Diane Welsh through the firm Judicial Arbitration and Mediation Service, Inc. (JAMS) in Philadelphia, PA. Teresa Snorton, Tim Thorstenson and I represented the ACPE. Raymond Lawrence, James Gebhart and George Hankins Hull represented the CPSP.
We agreed to issue the following statement and agreed to a process that will begin our work together in the spirit of the mediation agreement. The ACPE Board of Representatives will discuss the issues and next steps more completely at our scheduled February conference call meeting.
