Take some extra time when shopping for your children to ensure you are buying them safe toys that will last longer than the paper you wrapped them in. If your children get bored during their holiday break, head to Education.com for some ideas to get their bodies and brains busy. There are activities for children of all ages, from preschool through high school. They may get caught up in the fun and not even realize they are learning something new!

 Buying toys for toddlers is becoming a daunting project for most of us. How do we choose a safe, educational toy that is fun and will last? Parents Magazine has done the homework for you-check out their suggestions at Parents.com. If you forget your safety list at home, make sure plush toys and stuffed animals can be washed. Most other toys can be cleaned on the surface. If the parts are small enough to slip into a toilet paper tube, the toy is too small for young toddlers. Check for potential splinters or other hazards. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission keeps an eye on toys, cribs, and many other consumer products. You can look for recalls at www.cpsc.gov. |
