It's about the guys this month! The Men's Health Network celebrates Men's Health Month in June-nice timing with Father's Day. It's time to gently remind the men in your life to get a good checkup by their physician. Men are diagnosed with breast cancer every year, experience hearing loss more than women, and of course, they need a prostate exam. Healthy men make healthy partners and healthy dads, too.  Guys and grills. They just go together and summertime is the best time for outdoor cooking. For grilling safety tips, check out the ideas at the Home Safety Council. Most tips are common sense, but it is always good to be reminded of the hazards (and solutions) around the house and yard.
Is there a salad more manly than one done on the grill? Try Grilled Romaine! Simply make a lengthwise cut through the romaine lettuce head. Drizzle a tiny bit of olive oil on the cut side. Place cut side down on the grill for two minutes or until you see a few grill marks. Serve with your choice of dressing or try a creamy blue cheese dressing with a few chunks of a buttermilk bleu cheese, fresh cracked pepper and a handful of croutons. A salad for you; fire for him. Everyone wins.

The Women's Health Group (Thornton location) offers Photobaby, 3D/4D ultrasound imaging of your baby, BEFORE you meet each other in the delivery room. Images are best if done between 26 and 32 weeks, unless you are having twins. Images of twins are best between 20 and 24 weeks. Our package includes a 30 minute ultrasound session (approximately 3-5 minutes of actual footage of your baby) with our RDMS-registered technologist, a link to PhotobabyTV so you can share with family and post to social networks, black and white images and a printed 3D/4D image.
Photobaby makes a great shower gift for a friend! This is a great gift for yourself-bond with your baby early. Call our Thornton office today (303-280-2229) to schedule one of the limited appointments. Photobaby is not a diagnostic tool, therefore it is not covered by insurance.

 No, that's not R2D2 in that photo. That is one of our new, state-of-the-art Medison Samsung Accuvix V20 ultrasound machines. The high resolution provides crisp images, increasing the amount of information relayed to your doctor. Our RDMS technologists received specialized training on these machines to ensure your exams are efficient and rich with diagnostic images. With the ability to get information to your doctor quickly, your wait-time for results is minimized. Although the ultrasound machines are not direct components in our electronic health record system, they are a significant piece in the technology we have invested in to improve patient care and detailed records. While we are talking ultrasound...the days of full bladders for ultrasound exams are in the past, with the exception of a 12-week nuchal translucency (NT) exam, ordered for our pregnant moms. Also, please remember, ultrasound exams are very technical, requiring full concentration of the technologist. We do not allow any photography or videotaping in the ultrasound room; however, we are happy to print a few pictures for you to take home. |
