Greetings!

Don't put away the snow shovel just yet!  March can be a fickle month with a snowstorm one day and baseball weather the next.  Our hormones can be just as fickle; we feel 'sunny' one day and the rage of a storm the next.  PMS (Premenstrual Syndrome) affects approximately one third of the female population while the more serious form, PMDD (Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder), affects about 8% of women.  The weather isn't always as predictable as a monthly cycle might be.  If you feel your life is affected by PMS or PMDD, track your symptoms for a couple months and have a talk with your healthcare provider.  PMS and PMDD are very real and also very treatable.  This month we look at the difference between the two syndromes and offer suggestions to help you manage the storms.  Click here for the whole article.

 Sincerely,

Pregnant + Massage = Relaxation!

Pregnancy massage
Relaxation techniques are helpful for many women suffering from PMS and PMDD.  Stress reduction and relaxation techniques are not exclusive to women suffering from PMS and PMDD, nor are they exclusive to pregnant women.  Men and women will benefit by taking a break from the storms now and then.  Massage is a perfect escape and it provides healthful benefits as well.  Bob Sullivan of SMT Integrative Health explains the benefits in his article Why Massage During Pregnancy?

***As always, please check with your physician/midwife before scheduling a massage-every pregnancy is different!

Treat yourself to a tension-taming massage---schedule an appointment today.
You could use one after you shovel out from the spring snow!

Don't be shy....be dry!

Steve Volin, M.D.Are you feeling a little shy or embarassed about a teeny bit of incontinence?  A little leaky now and then?  Afraid to laugh or sneeze?  Maybe you have resigned yourself to living with your bladder problems.  You don't have to!  Stress urinary incontinence can often be treated with a sling.  After years of doing the sling procedure, Dr. Volin says patient satisfaction is high and recuperation time is minimal due to the advanced procedures.  If you are ready to live dry, don't be shy.....call us today for a consult!
