On Monday, March 7th, at 9:00 am, Dr. dawn Emerick, Executive Director of the Health Planning Council of Northeast Florida, will be speaking to Melissa Ross on First Coast Connect about the preliminary findings for the Youth Sport Related Concussion Study. Dr. Emerick will be joined by several study council members who will help shed some light on how these findings are starting to paint a picture of incidence and prevalence of concussions in our area. The final study results are set to be released at the HPC Annual Meeting on Thursday, October 27, 2011. Until then, the study council will continue to meet and collect and analyze data. In-depth interviews of Emergency Department physicians will be conducted in the coming months.
