Health Planning Council Executive Director Is Invited to Participate on Two Prominent Northeast Florida Committees

Health Planning Council of Northeast Florida's Executive Director, Dawn Emerick was recently invited to serve on two important groups.  Mrs. Emerick was recently nominated to serve on the Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce's Board of Governors.  This action oriented board will be a working extension of the Chamber's Board of Directors focusing on the Chamber's five major areas of emphasis for 2010.  She joins a cast of some of Northeast Fl orida's most successful leaders:

·         Retaining the Jaguars - led by Rick Catlett, president, Konica Minolta Gator Bowl

·         Revitalizing downtown - led by Ed Burr, president and CEO, GreenPointe Holdings, LLC

·         Addressing current affairs - led by Michael Munz, executive vice president/partner, The Dalton Agency

·         Developing small businesses - led by Cleve Warren, president, Essential Capital

·         Enhancing Chamber member value - led by Marty Lanahan, area president, Regions

 

Last year, Mrs. Emerick traveled the Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce to Kansas City and was activity engaged in the development of the Kansas City White Paper recently released to the public.  

Mrs. Emerick will attend her first Board of Governor's meeting in May.

 

Mrs. Emerick has also been invited to participate on the Life Sciences Task Force, hosted by the Cornerstone Regional Development Partnership and Chaired by Dr. William Rupp of Mayo Clinic. The goals of this small group will be to examine Cornerstone's current strategy to attract Life Science companies and help identify potential prospects within the fields of medical devise manufacturing, healthcare information technology and clinical trials. The first meeting for the Life Science Task Force will be held in May as well.
