Confirmation Program Strengthening Episcopal Congregations

From Church Publishing, Confirm not Conform is a unique program developed by St. John's Episcopal Church in Oakland. More than 150 Episcopal churches are now using CnC, the confirmation program that gives youth a voice in their faith and lets them have ownership in their choices.

The CnC program is comprehensive, providing everything the congregation needs. Pricing is based on a congregation's average Sunday attendance, with annual access as low as $49/year.

Check out the website for more information.

"The eyes are the windows to the soul"

January is
Glaucoma Awareness Month

According to The Mayo Clinic, glaucoma is a group of conditions resulting in optic nerve damage, which diminishes eyesight.  This is usually caused by high intraocular pressure.

Primary open-angle glaucoma is the most prevalent type of glaucoma in the U.S. population and the second leading cause of blindness.  It is sometimes referred to as   "the silent thief" due to the gradual, subtle loss of vision.

Early diagnosis and treatment can minimize or prevent optic nerve damage and limit glaucoma-related vision loss. It's important to get your eyes examined regularly, and make sure your eye doctor measures your intraocular pressure. Regular eye exams are the key to detecting glaucoma early enough for successful preventive treatment.

The links below to the Mayo Clinic website provide information regarding glaucoma.

The first link discusses preventive measures:

The second link provides symptoms to be aware of for both open-angle and angle-closure glaucoma:

Schedule your annual eye exam today, which includes glaucoma screening. Through your Medical Trust benefits with EyeMed, an annual, in-network eye exam has a $0 co-pay. It's easy to locate a provider: call (866) 723-0513 or visit www.eyemedvisioncare.com
