Cognex - DataMan 200
 The image based DataMan 200 Series readers offer industry-leading reading performance of 1 and 2D codes in a small product size with Ethernet connectivity for real time product tracking. Additionally, Cognex is the first company to integrate Liquid Lens Technology into their readers which offers rapid hands-free, software-driven autofocus with no moving parts and increased depth of field flexibility as demonstrated above in the video section of this newsletter.
The liquid lens module is an electronically controllable variable focus system which uses two iso-density liquids - oil is an insulator while water is a conductor. The variation of voltage leads to a change of curvature of the liquid-liquid interface, which in turn leads to a change of the focal length of the lens.
