Happy New Year?
I assume that most all of us wished someone a "Happy New Year" at some point over the last few weeks. I just spent Sunday with some friends who had sent Christmas Gifts and Happy New Year greetings to people in Haiti. I fact, one family is in the process of adopting two girls from that country who fortunately survived the earthquake. Would you have wished them a Happy New Year if you had known what was about to happen, the devastation, loss of life, and trama?
Did you wish someone a Happy New Year who does not know Christ? Should you have? The Lutheran Hispanic Missionary Institute is committed to insuring that all Spanish Speaking people have an eternal Happy New Year!

Sandra Perez - Acuna, Mexico |
One of the advantages of the Lutheran Hispanic Missionary Institute is the ability to offer classes, real-time, over the internet. Currently, 4 students are participating from Acuna, Mexico. One such student is Sandra Perez.
Sandra is elated to be taking classes through LHMI. She already is reaching students out of her home in Saint Teresa. The pictures are of her class as they celebrated Christmas in 2009. Her pastor, Gary Martin, writes of Rev Richard K Schlak, Director for LHMI, "We thank God that our former missionary to Venezuela for many years is willing to serve in this capacity to strengthen workers around the world via the internet wth our Biblical Lutheran doctrine." |

| Committed Individuals |
|
The Lutheran Hispanic Missionary Institute is looking for individuals who are committed to reaching Spanish Speaking people with the gospel of Jesus Christ. The LCMS has demonstrated a heart for Hipanics/Latino ministry, however, the aggressive application of that heart has lacked the pragmatic resources that are neces-sary to do the job.
If you know of individuals with that heart for Spanish Speaking ministry, please send them our information. And pray that God would send labourers into is field, by raising up workers, and by raising up senders. |
