Seasons Greetings!
We can hardly believe it's the end of the 2009!  Where has all the time gone?   It's such a wonderful time of year to count our blessings and we want to give a hearty THANKS to all our wonderful families!  HuckleBerry is such a special place because of you and your children.   As we look around at what is happening in education today, we feel so priviledged to be part of an approach that helps your children desire to learn about so many different subjects.   And we've created even more new and exciting classes for our new semester!    Thanks to everyone that provided feedback to help us better meet your needs.
As we are giving thanks, we wanted to let all of our generous and loving parents know that having you and your children at the center is one of our biggest blessings.   And while we absolutely love all the gifts we receive during the holidays, with these difficult economic times, we want you to know that your presence is our very best present!

Happy Holidays to you and yours!
Stephanie

YEARBOOK UPDATE

We are very pleased to let you know that you have all purchased enough yearbooks for us to have a yearbook for the 2009-2010 year!   Thank you to everyone that has purchased a yearbook or committed to putting an ad in the yearbook to help pay for it!   We still need to sell 10 more yearbooks to pay for it all - so if you haven't purchased one yet and you would like one - please see Penny Sande or email her at sandepen@yahoo.com!
YOU ASKED FOR IT!  WE CREATED IT!

Times are hard right now - for many of us.   Although the charter school funding helps many of us pay for our classes, there just never seems to be enough for all the things we want to do for our children.   That's why we will be offering several classes at a reduced rate for HuckleBerry families in the Spring 2010 semester.

Look for Lisa Huckemeyer's Math Games for 2nd & 3rd grades, Elizabeth Rydall's Building Challenges for 6-8 year olds and another one for the 9-12 year olds, Stephanie's 7 Habits for Highly Effective Teens & Public Speaking classes - they will all be offered at reduced rates.    We are also offering modules classes again; you can sign up for the entire class, or just a module!   Want to learn how to cook soups, but skip breads?  Just sign up for that module!   We're still finalizing it all - look for more info when the schedule is published!

And don't forget about the Bob Berry Scholarship Fund!    Funds are available to pay for classes, material fees, registration, or all of that!   Help is here if you need it.   See our website for applications and information!
HUCK FAMILY BOXTOPS = $100!

Can you believe it?   Abigail DeSesa gathered so many boxtops from all our Huck families that we will be receiving a check for $100 in December!  What a lovely Christmas present!  Thank you so much for everyone's efforts in clipping their boxtops and bringing them to the Center.   All those Expo Markers, Tape, Paper and other supplies really add up - boxtops will help us pay for them!!!

Abigail has also arranged for us to be able to collect and benefit from "Labels for Education".  You can find these labels on Campbell's, Swanson and Pepperidge Farm products just to name a few.  So keep clipping those boxtops and now look for the Labels for Education too!

COMPUTER LAB - COMING SOON!!

Our new Computer Lab will soon be up and running!  We are expecting our laptops to be delivered shortly after the Thanksgiving break.
SCRIP UPDATE

Thank you to the families who ordered Scrip in November.  Scrip is our newest fundraising effort for HuckleBerry and it has started out as a great success.  So far with only 4 families ordering, we have earned over $100!  The families who ordered will be entered in a drawing to win a $25 Starbucks gift card.

Scrip can be used to buy your groceries and gas.  Use it when you eat out or buy gifts.  To get started, pick up an order form at the Huck desk, or go to ShopwithScrip.com to register and shop.

You will receive a free gift when you place your first order AND, for every $25 you order you will receive 1 entry ticket for a drawing for a $25 gift card!

Welcome New Teachers to HuckleBerry!

We've had several requests for a Spanish class at HuckleBerry and we are excited to announce that Tracy Quick will start to teach both Spanish and Latin in Spring 2010!   Tracy has an extensive education in language and taught both Spanish and Russian before!

We've also had several requests for HuckleBerry style classes for children that are not yet 5!   Luckily, we have Kelly Petrula at HuckleBerry who has years of education and experience working with preschoolers.  She will be teaching a fun filled movement, story and crafts class for our smallest Hucksters!

A little magic is also coming our way!  Doug Hoover will be offering 2 8 week modules in MAGIC!

Look for these exciting new classes and teachers and lots more in the Spring Semester Class Schedule coming out SOON!
