WELCOME BACK TO HUCK!
We have all been enjoying the kids so much in classes this week! We hope you have all been enjoying the learning as well! This semester we have lots of fun planned for you, from field trips to California Pizza Kitchen to the Huntington Gardens. But we're starting it all off with our Back To Fun night! While other people may be going back to school - we're going Back to Fun! Check out the details below on our Back To Fun night at Barnes & Noble. Philosophically, fun is what we think is the most important part of learning. If children are enjoying their learning, they will learn to own their education and take it further than anyone could have designed for them. We don't need to tell them what they need to do to get an "A". We just need to inspire and unleash them, and let them design their learning. The children continue to amaze all of us with their willingness to dive into new subjects, make new friends, design new experiments, figure out new solutions to old problems, and have fun all the while. Feel free to come and see what's going on at The Huck - we think you'll like it!

It's going to be a good one!
There will be a demonstration of clown makeup and clown behavior! And a balloon character creation class! A talented card trickster will teach us all a trick!
We are partnering with Ben and Jerry's and Baja Fresh so eat, drink and be merry...

FUNDRAISING AT HUCK

Listed below, you will find ways you can contribute to our fundraising efforts at Huck. Many of these require not money out of your pocket, just a little bit of time to clip or click.
READ-A-THON
Our
Read-A-Thon reading period is official over. Add up your minutes and
contact your sponsors. Turn in your donations at the desk and receive
your Island's gift certificate (one per participating reader). We're
asking that all donations be turned in during the first week of classes. Thank you to everyone that has turned in their READ-A-THON earnings for our computer lab! We have earned $1028.00 so far! THANK YOU FOR HELPING US TO BUILD OUR COMPUTER LAB!
BAJA FRESH/BEN & JERRY'S/BARNES & NOBLE FUNDRAISER NIGHT
Thursday, September 10th 5pm-10pm come on out for dinner, dessert and a good time. Be sure to pick up a flier at the desk - Baja Fresh requires it for us to get credit.
BOXTOPS FOR EDUCATION & AMECI'S 
Bring in your boxtops and Ameci's pizza box labels. There will be collection containers for both at the desk. This is a great way
to support Huck without spending any extra money.
We
have 180 students at HuckleBerry, but only 11 people are signed up for
e-scrip! E-scrip is the easiest way to help out HuckleBerry! All
you do is log on, enter your Vons grocery card and other shopping
cards, and just keep shopping the way you normally do! Please join
today!
Register your Vonsclub, Safeway & Pavilions, debit and
credit cards and watch the funds add up for Huck. You can also shop at
