Super Sweet Pecan Pie Recipe
1 Pie Crust
Ingredients 1/2 cup plain shortening (not butter flavored) 1 1/2 cups flour 1/4 teaspoon salt 3-4 tablespoons cold water
Directions Mix flour and salt and then cut in shortening Add water 1 tablespoon at a time and mix with a fork Roll into circle big enough for a 9" pie pan
1 Pecan Pie
Ingredients 1 pie crust 1 cup light corn syrup 1 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar 3 slightly beaten eggs 1/2 cup melted butter 1/3 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 heaping cup pecan halves (and a little more) 1/2 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate bits (optional)
Directions Preheat oven to 350 degrees In large bowl, combine corn syrup, sugar, eggs, butter, salt and vanilla and mix well Pour filling into unbaked pie shell Sprinkle with pecan halves and chocolate bits if using Bake at 350 for 55-65 minutes Pie is done when middle is set and no longer in liquid form
