From Lanie Shipp, Executive Director
LanieThe TCACID began a $1.5 million beautification program two years ago and is moving toward completion within the next two years. We began this project with the goal of providing an attractive environment... a well-defined, well-maintained area in which to live, work and play. And, we want it to be easily recognized as the Town Center Area.

The project currently includes Elberton granite-covered walls at the end of the exit and entrance ramps of the Barrett Parkway exit off Interstate 75, and at the corner of Roberts Court and Barrett Parkway.

Those same areas include landscaping, which has also been added to medians on Chastain Road and Barrett Parkway.

Regular maintenance to these areas is enhancing overall appearance.

Way-finding signs have been a welcome addition to drivers, directing them to Kennesaw State University, the mall and the McCollum Airport.

Two business owners recently expressed their pleasure in seeing the enhancements. Andy Eichenblatt, owner of Alphagraphics, said that he has been so impressed with the work the TCACID is doing to really and promote the district. And, Mark Barre, owner of Your Office USA, believes the enhancements will help his business.

Yet to come are gateway signs, signaling to drivers that they have entered the Town Center district. And, as always, the main mission of the TCACID remains district transportation projects to improve mobility to and through this busy area.
