Breaking the Cycle: Candace
Girl at TLC
"I was a resident at the Transitional Living Center for approximately 1.5 years. The house provided a friendly place to call "home." [They] truly cared about giving me the tools to be a successful women.

I moved in to the house having already started my Master's Program with very little money and grieving a tragic death in my family; it was a very vulnerable time for me. [Our Friends Place] gave me the security that I needed to get back on my feet and keep pressing toward my goal.

I moved in to the house fairly successful in school and with life experience, so I assumed that I would not learn much from their life skills development programs. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked away from the program with a better understanding of financial planning, nutrition, and I even learned some sewing skills. OFP was a blessing in my life during a time when I really needed it."

Labor Day - the unofficial end to Summer.  But, that doesn't mean the fun has to end.  Kick-back and relax with us at Sanctuary Sanctorum on Thursday, September 10!  Enjoy champagne, hors d'oeuvres, plus a little shopping, if you must.  Santuary Sanctorum will donate at least 10% of purchases to support Our Friends Place.  Click here to RSVP.

And what would October be without something a little odd, like a purple cow?  It's Purple Cow Nite, Tuesday, October 6 at the Purple Cow Diner in the Preston Royal Shopping Center.  Make plans to visit us after-school or for dinner or dessert.  15% of your check will go to help the girls & young women who call OFP "home"!

Lastly, be sure to save the date for our next Happy Hour on Thursday, November 5 at Eddie Deen's Ranch.  A BIG announcement will be made.  You don't want to miss it!
As the girls and young women living at Our Friends Place strive towards a better life, you are with them each and every step.  Thank you!

Sincerely,
