Breaking the Cycle: Quality over Quantity
Why are Our Friends Place's numbers so small compared to other agencies?
After researching similar programs, Our Friends
Place purposely maintains a small population within its programs to offer homes versus institutionalized environments. The Group Home has a family-like
atmosphere and a smaller staff-to-child ratio so it can best meet the needs
of each girl's therapeutic and behavioral needs. The small size of the Transitional Living Center (TLC) allows those
doing well to become role models and sources of support and encouragement to
others in the program.
Because of our small clientele, we can offer a long-term, high intensive program designed to break destructive cycles of behavior and create new habits with positive outcomes.

Bank of Texas: Making a Difference!
Carl Shields with the Bank of Texas Community Development Department called recently asking if he could stop by to see us. To our surprise, he brought with him $1,500 from the Bank of Texas for program scholarships!
On average, it costs $40,000 per year to help one girl at the Therapeutic Group Home. Program scholarships ensure that all girls who need care and support don't fall through the cracks despite their families' finances.
Thank you Bank of Texas for investing in the future of our girls!
