The Sweetest Love Affair with Niedria & Cornelius Kenny
"The ventures I had were complimented with new ideas. My ideas were magnified with his birth. I was not set back in the dream
department at all. There was not anything that i could not do - I can be just as successful with my prince. I began to dream bigger. If not just as motivated, I'm more motivated now. I am inspired, because I want to show out for GOD like He showed out for me when He gave this prince to me."

Healing After An Abortion
By Delores Norman
I was 15 years old and was pregnant by my foster father, whom I was molested by since the age 12. I found out I was pregnant, and I began having sex with a boy who liked me so I could blame the pregnancy on him. However, by the time I went to have the abortion I was already five months pregnant. It was too late to have a normal first trimester procedure so I was forced to have a still birth procedure.

How God Moves Mountains and Obstacles In My Life
By Amina Haqq
I woke up in the recovery room and was told that the pregnancy ruptured in the fallopian tube and subsequently, I lost my fallopian tube. Unfortunately, the scar tissue on the right indicated that if I ever got pregnant again, I would certainly lose that pregnancy as well. With the help of Almighty God, Allah, Who led me into the Mighty M.G.T. Class, I am overwhelmingly grateful for how He was and still is able to move mountains and obstacles in my path.

Grieving A Miscarriage
By Kathleen Muhammad
A few days before my next appointment (second trimester/five months), the morning sickness subsided. I told my husband I am finally beginning to really enjoy the pregnancy. I had more energy. My appetite increased...all that good stuff. We went to our monthly routine check-up. The nurse did the normal tests, and when she read the results she asked me a question I thought was strange, "Are you alone?" When the doctor checked for the baby's heart beat he couldn't hear it. Then he did a full picture ultra-sound and could not see the heart beat nor activity coming from the baby. At that time he said, "I'm sorry Mrs. Muhammad, but I believe your baby has expired." |

I May Be Bruised but I'm NOT Broken
By Dawn, the Self-Esteem Queen
The Indians say "your wounds are your gifts". If this is so, then most of us have an overabundance of gifts stored up. We spend countless hours pretending to be someone we're not while trying to maintain a facade that we want people to see, and in the midst of it all we forget who we are. Sometimes, people will tell me not to talk about my past because after all, I'm no longer the abandoned 14 year old who ultimately became a teen prostitute. I'm no longer the teen who battled with depression and dramatic suicide attempts. I'm no longer the girl who lost too many friends in high school and college to count. I'm no longer the young lady who was diagnosed with cancer at the height of my career. The truth is - I am still ALL of those people. |

Spitting Venom
By Traci Cushmeer
What are snakes? Snakes are people who are functioning metaphorically from the absolute lowest levels of intelligence. They function from the reptilian brain. People can be like unto a human snake in the sense that they slide up next to you and "whisper" an evil or contrary suggestion into your spirit (your desires) in firm resolution. With the effect of such evil talk being that the next time you take a life inventory of your goals, visions and dreams, you find that you are 100 miles off the original mark that you set out to achieve.

A Male Perspective: Deconstructing the Myth of Modesty
By Jesse Muhammad
What is my and our responsibility as men when it comes to modesty? First, we must applaud our mothers, wives, daughters, and nieces as much as possible when they are striving to be right in this world. Don't assume they know, we must tell them. It's not as easy as it may look. We should internalize the words by the Hon. Elijah Muhammad, "A Nation can rise no higher than its woman." That wasn't meant to be a cliche or a t-shirt slogan. Its divine instruction on how we should see them through the lens of Allah (God). |
