Secure TeleHealth Press Release
Secure TeleHealth Announces

TeleHealth Video Conferencing for Behavioral Health Clients
Margaret
Beaver, Pa - December 8, 2008 - Beaver County Behavioral Health is using TeleHealth video conferencing technology from Secure TeleHealth to connect home-bound behavioral health clients to their small group sessions and to their peer-support specialists.
How it works
Appliance
An appliance with a web cam (pictured at right) is installed at the client's home.  A second appliance sits at the conference table where the group meets.  The group members interact with the person on the screen just like she was sitting at the head of the table.
How services are paid for
Secure TeleHealth charges a flat fee to the provider of service.  The provider bills the Managed Care Organization (MCO) for the clinician's time and a separate technology fee for the equipment cost.
Expected Outcomes
Increase the number of contacts between behavioral healh professionals and consumers.

The Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare has expressed enthusiam and high expectations for outcomes in their endorsement of this pilot (more DPW information is available upon request).

Consumer feedback indicates satisfaction with the pilot.  One remote participant told us:  "I felt that I was part of the class and I am a good person.  I know that now, and that I am not alone and my self-esteem will get better!"
Headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Secure TeleHealth provides an inexpensive, high-quality, secure video conferencing service to the behavioral health community.
