Barry Manilow to give Benefit Concert to include Guide Dogs of the Desert!

barry Barry Manilow wanted to go all out for this holiday season. The unique holiday program, "A Gift of Love," will feature a large orchestra with horn and string sections combined with some of Manilow's biggest hits. The shows will raise funds for 25 local charities and won't be performed anywhere else.

We are thankful that he has included us to be one of the benefactors.

Tickets range from $85 to $250.
The performances are slated for December 4-5 and December 7-9, and will feature songs from Manilow's most recent Christmas CD, "In the Swing of Christmas," and two previous Christmas albums, "Because It's Christmas" and "A Christmas Gift of Love."

Premium tickets are also available, giving fans special time with Manilow, at www.starz.bz/ agiftoflove for $750. The tickets include a post-reception and photo opportunity with Manilow.

Buyers may designate $500 of the ticket's cost to Guide Dogs of the Desert. Premium tickets for $1,000 include a pre-concert champagne reception with Manilow and an autographed program. Buyers of that may designate $750 to Guide Dogs of the Desert.

Trina's Tip of the Month

4-star
November is an especially great month to get together with family and friends. Who does not love a great feast? The Thanksgiving holiday is my favorite holiday and a great time to remember all we have to be thankful for.

A lot of pet owners enjoy sharing in the festivities with their pets but keep in mind that what is good for us can be harmful or deadly to our four-legged friends.  If you are one that likes to give a little extra to your pet on Thanksgiving  then please do so out of their own food bowl instead of from the dining room table. Some great tidbits are listed below

- fresh apple slices
- fresh carrots
- a little chicken broth over their food.
- a few pieces of cooked turkey meat without all the seasonings.

Please do check with your veterinarian prior to adding anything to your pets diet especially if they are currently undergoing medical treatment for another medical concern.

Please avoid offering your pets cooked bones. Theses small bones become fragile once cooked and can splinter easily. This can cause intestinal damage of blockage. Avoid offering your pet seasoned food. Their digestive system can be sensitive and this can cause gastric upset and loose stool or vomiting.

Pay extra attention to where your pet is during the making and cleaning process. Pets are very quick to take off with something they should not have. Dogs have been known to pull an entire turkey off the counter. They are equally as clever if you throw the bones in the trash after the day is done. The clean up should be taken directly to an outside trash can and not left in the house where pets have easy access.

If you are hosting the gathering please make sure your pet has a safe place to go. Some of our pets are sensitive to change and larger gatherings of friends and children running about.

Have a safe and wonderful holiday!
