"25th Anniversary for ArtWalk" April 25th & 26th, 2009

This April tradition in San Diego beckons you to enjoy not only the art and music, but also to dine and shop in Little Italy. Italian and eclectic cuisine, and some of the most unique boutiques in the region can be found here - like Domicilio at the Station Co-op.
It's the largest art festival in Southern California. There are actually hundreds of artists filling the streets from Beech Street at the south end to Grape Street in the north. India Street is the main thoroughfare for music and dining, with 6 musical performance areas. I recommend comfy shoes and sunscreen. Here is a map showing the booth numbers and parking areas. Parking at the County Administration Building lot at Pacific Highway and Cedar Street might be a good place to park...it's just a two block walk to the event from there. The MTS Trolley helps you avoid searching for parking. From the Blue Line, get off at the County Center/Little Italy stop and you are in the heart of the festival.

I will be in booth #311 on Cedar Street between Kettner and India featuring my European images and Vegas Metallic canvas prints. Please give me a call at 619.306.4591 if you have any questions or can't find me.
Domicilio ~ Re-Opens in Little Italy!!

The Grand Re-Opening of Domicilio is ArtWalk weekend! My booth is right down the street from the boutique so you can come to both of us. They are two doors down from Pappalecco....the gelato lounge I showed my images at a couple of years ago. I'm so happy my work will be in Little Italy - it's perfect. Kristi and Chantal will have a variety of unique home furnishing along with 13 of my 20x24 framed images and my miniature series.

"Every Photo has a Story"

Siena Kiss in Siena by Terri Rippee
My trips to Europe have always been for my fine art work and I never really photographed people....this time I wanted to do an "engagement session" so I actually stood along a street watching people walk by. Italians have such style while the tourists, including me, dress so "comfortably". I would love to bring stylish clothes and shoes but they don't fit in my luggage! Oh, and not to mention I am carrying about 35 pounds in camera gear and my laptop! Then this beautiful couple walked by me! I went up to Gergana and Nico and asked "Scusi. parli inglese?" They did - lucky for me since my Italian isn't nearly as good as it should be! I told them I was a photographer from California, showed them some of my photographs and asked them if they wanted to wander all over Siena doing a photo session. They said yes! Of course I couldn't find this spot when I was looking for it again so they went to one of the local cafe's while I continued my search. I even had to ask for directions! I have to say that getting lost and finding incredible new subjects  is one of the things I love about traveling though!

Nico emailed me later....this was his description...."do you remember the beautiful couple with the fantastic Bulgarian lady and the depressed Italian man". How could I forget?! We had so much fun! I mailed them 5x7's of all the photos I took thank them. I think they got married in Bulgaria last year. Would have loved to photograph it!

Do you know anyone getting married in Europe, especially Italy? I would love to be introduced to them! Thanks in advance!!

"Vegas Boneyard"

Vegas Boneyard by Terri Rippee
I wanted to show some of my different work at ArtWalk since I didn't get to Europe last year (I am planning a trip for the fall though!) These are from the Boneyard in Las Vegas. I've been there a couple of times...and yes, you have to pay to go in and shoot. Here is one of the images and I have 3 more detail shots that make a great series. They are printed metallic on canvas..perfect for old signs. Please stop by booth #311 at ArtWalk to see them!
Thanks so much for reading my newsletter! Referrals for weddings, family and kids sessions would also be appreciated....you will love the images I capture! I will give you both a $50 credit towards photo sessions. It's my way to say "thanks" to my clients and welcome new clients!

Have you seen the new issue of Exquisite Weddings yet?...I have a ten page spread in it and it looks great! The link shows the images in the magazine but the layout Alyssa did is awesome!

Business Portrait Special on May 8th - please contact me for more information.
