The whole state was in a wind chill advisory and we were driving right into it when the unexpected happened.  Sixteen miles west of Fort Dodge our vehicle gave a great "thunk" and we pulled over as a sick grinding sound immediately could be heard.  Barb said, "That sounds catastrophic."  It was 6:00pm, dark, bitterly cold and windy.

 

We prayed and asked the Lord for wisdom how to proceed.  As I was evaluating whether or not we could continue a van pulled up behind us.  A young lady pulled over because "she would want someone to stop for her if she were stranded."  She was alone and offered to bring our family into Fort Dodge so we could make arrangements for our vehicle and get home.

 

Tracy was curious about why were were traveling and before we reached Fort Dodge we not only shared our story but the love of Jesus with her.  As we pulled up to McDonalds we asked if there was anything she needed prayer for.  She said, "Money, but who doesn't?"  Barb and I prayed for her before we parted and thanked her for stopping and helping us.

 

Just 2 days prior to this encounter with Tracy some friends had felt impressed from the Lord to give us $100 cash for our weekend trip.  Upon receiving it we felt God wanted to give it to someone else through us.  Throughout the weekend we had been praying and "looking" intently for that individual.  After our conversation with Tracy we knew immediately she was the one.  As we parted we gave her our prayer card with the $100 bill tucked in behind.  We assured her that God loves her and has a plan for her life. 

 

We marvel at the way of the Master, causing us to break down at the right time at the moment when Tracy would be passing by so she could hear the love of Jesus.  It was a gift to her and her 4 boys right from Jesus just in time for Christmas.

 

We anticipate and pray for the day when Tracy will come to know Jesus as her Savior because of the miracle at 20 below!
