Britain in the 1940s! 

 

In the 1940s, the British Council commissioned films to show to the world how Britain lived, worked and played. Summer School 2012

 

 

Be a part of one of the biggest British Council Young Learners Summer Schools in the Region. Our unique task-based courses use books, video and project work to stimulate creativity, develop enquiring minds and improve your children's English skills in an interesting, communicative and enjoyable way.

 

Four sessions in Rabat : 25 june-06 July, 9-20 July, 23 July to 3 august and 6-17 august from 9.00 to 12.00 or 9.00 to 17.00. 

Five sessions in Casablanca: 11 - 22 June, 25 june-06 July, 9-20 July, 23 July - 3 august and 6-17 august from 9.00 to 12.00

 

The aim of the summer school is:

 

Junior courses

  •  Integrated skills-with an emphasis on expanding vocabulary and fluency, exploiting the great story telling tradition of Morocco and the region.
  • The story books and the Olympic themed projects will make links to school curriculums, with history and geography.
  • The projects will encourage pair and group work and creativity.
  • There will be Mini competitions during the summer schools.

 

Senior courses

 

The aim of the summer school is:

  • Expanding vocabulary
  • Improving fluency
  • Exploring and discovering the world
  • Public speaking
  • Creativity
  • Team building
  • Cross curriculum links-science, geography, history, inter-culture, sociology
  • There will be a sprinkling of Olympic activities, with students learning a lot about many aspects of participating nations

English Teaching Training in May

 

4 - 6 May: MATE Tiznit, Agadir and Guelmim Regional Colloquium: The British Council will provide training for around 120 teachers in the south of Morocco, providing new skills to teachers and enabling them to build their own autonomous professional development communities using British Council online and printed materials.

 

8 May: The British Council will provide training for 200 students and 15 teaching staff at Abdelmalek Essadi university, Tetouan.

 

25 - 27 May: MATE Ouarzaazte Regional Conference: We will participate in the 12th annual MATE Ouarzazate conference, providing training opportunities for around 80 teachers in and around the Ouarzazate region.
