1- IATEFL 2012 Conference
The world's biggest English teachers' conference took place in Glasgow from 19-23 March 2012. The British Council and IATEFL have launched the IATEFL Glasgow Online website which is now live and offers coverage of this year's IATEFL Annual Conference.
The site features news, views and coverage with video presentations, reports and interviews from the 2012 IATEFL Conference in Glasgow.

This year we were lucky to have two Moroccan presenters at IATEFL: Mohammed Hassim presented on "Connecting Classrooms online: Act Globally, Develop Locally" (available to watch online at http://vimeo.com/39310537), and Imane Nejjar presented on "Using Kagan cooperative learning structures to engage EFL learners". Congratulations to them both!

2- Learn English French has arrived!
We celebrated the launch of the French version of www.learnenglish.britishcouncil.org/fr with a free party at the Palais des Congres, Marrakech, on 24th March. The audience of 700 were entertained by music from DJ Mar1, Masta Flow & Caprice and Mokhtar, and three lucky guests won an iPad2! You can see photos from the events on our facebook page.
The LearnEnglish website is now available to use in English, Arabic and French, so all our users in Morocco have a better chance to improve their English. The site is completely free and interactive, featuring MP3s for download, videos to watch, grammar and vocabulary activities, fun games to play and free apps to download for smartphones. Upcoming teacher training

Over the coming months, we are running teacher training workshops in and around Ouarzazate, Beni Mellal, Bouznika, Khouribga, Essouira and Azilal in co-operation with MATE and the Ministry of Education. Please contact your teaching supervisor if you and your colleagues would like to benfit from professional development and teacher training opportunities from the British Council.

English for the Game

The site is currently running a competition for learners, and the prizes include Olympic materials, books and mementos. Those who enter as individuals can win a trip to the UK!
There are two elements to the competition: one for those aged 8 - 11 and one for those aged 12 - 16:
Users aged 8 - 11
Create a project called "He's a hero / She's a heroine".
Users aged 12 - 16.
Design "My Perfect Paralympic Poster".
