Time for Lyme affiliate LDA holds scientific conference jointly sponsored by

The Lyme Disease Association, Inc. (LDA), a Time for Lyme affiliate, will hold its 11th annual Lyme & Tick-Borne Diseases Conference on Saturday Oct 2nd from 8-5:30, reception until 7PM, and on Sunday October 3rd from 8:00-1:30 at the Hyatt Penns Landing in Philadelphia, PA. The conference, jointly sponsored by Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons, will include the science and also clinical panel sessions.
This conference is designed for medical and health professionals, with a maximum of 13.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)TM available for physicians. The conference is also open for the general public (adults only). 13.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)TM offered by Columbia University to CME (continuing medical education) registrants.

Educational objectives of the conference
- To learn about the clinical manifestations and treatment of Lyme in the United States.
- To learn about the clinical manifestations and treatment of other tick-borne diseases
- To learn about the possible mechanisms of central nervous system disease in Lyme.
- To learn about the potential application of IV immunoglobulin therapy in autoimmune peripheral neuropathy.
- To learn about Vitamin D and the role of the endocrine system in chronic illness.
- To learn the essentials of the emergency room management of patients with possible TBD.
- To learn about the relative performance of different blood tests in Lyme disease screening.
