More About the 8 Painted Chairs
|
The Nantucket Lighthouse School is grateful to the gifted artists (see photo on right) who
generously donated their time, talent and resources to the 8 Painted Chairs.
View all eight chairs, meet some of the artists, and enter the raffle at the South Wharf Gallery reception, 6 - 8 pm, on Saturday, June 27. You may also purchase $10 raffle tickets by calling the Nantucket Lighthouse School at 508.228.0427; or from participating businesses including Diana Kim England Goldsmiths, 56 Main Street, Nantucket Bookworks, 25 Broad Street, and Annye's Whole Foods, 14 Amelia Drive. The drawing for the 8 Painted Chairs winners will be held Saturday, October 17, 2009, at 7:30 p.m. at the Nantucket Lighthouse School's annual Hoe Down. You need not be present to win.
In addition to the June 27 reception at South Wharf Gallery, there will be more opportunities to view the 8 Painted Chairs this summer, including:
- Artists Association Sidewalk Art Shows, taking place in the Nantucket Atheneum Garden, July 11 and August 15

I support the Lighthouse School because they promote healthy social skills, creative learning and personalized growth. David Lazarus / 8 Painted Chairs Artist
The
chair project reflects the mission of the school in that I created the
composition with my head, worked on it with my heart, and painted it
with my hand. MJ Levy Dickson / 8 Painted Chairs Artist
Judging
from the character of the Lighthouse School students that I have
observed, the school earns any support our community can provide. Robert McKee / 8 Painted Chairs Artist
