As a part of the Personal Care Products Council Foundation’s goal to refresh the Look Good...Feel Better brand image and materials and modernize Look Good...Feel Better communication capabilities, Look Good...Feel Better is excited to announce the release of the newly redesigned Look Good...Feel Better Web site, consumer print materials, and newsletter template. These projects were made possible by the generous in-kind support from P&G Beauty and Grooming, Johnson & Johnson Consumer Products, and Revlon, Inc.
The Look Good...Feel Better Web site has been redesigned and the site capabilities greatly improved to increase online delivery of program services and to more effectively integrate with social media. Along with a fresh, modern design template, new site features include monthly articles from various beauty experts offering insider tips about how to look and feel your best, a bilingual toggle button at the top for an easy transition from English to Spanish, a program finder button on the homepage, and through a partnership with InStyle.com, access to the InStyle.com makeover tool to sample different hair styles and makeup ideas using your own scanned image or existing images.
In conjunction with the new Web site, Look Good...Feel Better Facebook and Twitter pages encourage conversation and staying connected with volunteers, program alumni, friends and family, and the public. The Facebook page can be found at www.facebook.com/lookgoodfeelbetter and the Twitter page at www.twitter.com/lgfb. Many thanks to P&G Beauty and Grooming for their generous support of this project.
The redesign of the Look Good...Feel Better consumer print materials for the women’s program includes a new look and updated content for the volunteer recruitment brochure, promotional brochure, patient guide, just for you self-help patient guide, DVD/VHS cover, one-on-one salon consultation brochure, the How to Conduct A Patient Session booklet for volunteers, promotional poster and flier, and a new DVD cover for An Invitation to Look Good...Feel Better. Johnson & Johnson Consumer Products loaned the talents of their creative team to this project and created a uniform and compelling new look that focuses on the women served by Look Good...Feel Better. Materials are currently being printed in both English and Spanish. Many thanks to the talented Johnson & Johnson creative team, for their dedication and the creative time and effort invested in this project.
The final piece in this materials refresh is a new Look Good...Feel Better newsletter template. The more user-friendly design allows recipients to receive the newsletter by email, to easily access archived Look Good...Feel Better articles, and to share them with other volunteers. This project, was underwritten with the generous support of Revlon, Inc. Many thanks to Revlon management and staff across the country, whose local fundraising efforts funded this project.
The completion of these three projects represents phase I of a complete materials redesign and content update, and strengthens Look Good...Feel Better in 2011. Once again, a big thank you to P&G Beauty and Grooming, Johnson & Johnson Consumer Products, and Revlon for their support of Look Good...Feel Better and for making these projects possible.
Look Good...Feel Better hosted the first- ever live virtual workshop events on April 26 and July 14 and plans to have another one in October. The workshops mirrored the Look Good.....Feel Better community-based group workshop, offering instructions, tips, and advice for dealing with hair loss, changes in skin, complexion, and nails during cancer treatment. This innovative way of offering the group workshop allowed patients and those interested in the Look Good...Feel Better program to participate from their home, work, or even their favorite coffee shop. .
The virtual workshop pilot program is being conducted during 2011 to determine if the new format provides a viable delivery option for women who are unable to attend group workshops in their local area.
The Look Good....Feel Better virtual programs were facilitated by seasoned volunteer beauty professionals. During the workshops, three women in active treatment for cancer received Look Good...Feel Better makeup kits with skin care and makeup “tools” donated by member companies of the Personal Care Products Council. They were taught Look Good...Feel Better’s signature step-by-step beauty techniques to learn to effectively cope with appearance-related side effects of cancer treatment.
Program participants who tuned- in to one of the virtual workshops commented that they enjoyed the online experience the beneficial support of the Look Good...Feel Better program. Anyone who missed the live webcast may view the programs “on demand” by registering via the “Programs” page on the Look Good...Feel Better Web site at www.lookgoodfeelbetter.org.
