Greetings!
Welcome to March!! February was a really exciting month for us here at GLO. All the students switched their Enrichment Classes. Our K/1/2 are now taking Visual Arts, Theatre/Drama, and Digital Media Classes while the 3/4/5 are now taking Dance, Cooking and Nutrition, and Environmental Science and Gardening. Throughout March we will continue our service learning projects as well as introduce our new theme of Nutrition, Health and Wellness. We will culminate this month with Health Week and ending on Friday with our Health Fair. There will be booths and games and activities along with a healthy nutritious snack planned and prepared by our Cooking Enrichment Class.
Sincerely, Beth Guy Site Director GLO at Sherman 415-640-4144 shermand@gloinc.org

KIDS CLUB
Our March and April Kids Club will consist of a Trash'n'Show Kids club where students will begin preparing their costumes with all recycled materials for the Garden Party in May. Also, since animation was so popular we are going to bring it back! Some of the other Kids Clubs to look forward to are a football club, a singing kids club (to prepare for our Talent Show in April) and a Theatre club where we might even put on a musical!!!
Ms. Jessica is looking for donations for the Trash'n'Show. Any recycled materials, including: old clothing, cardboard, paper, plastic, textiles, aluminum foil, bottle caps, cd's, packing materials, or anything else you think can be reused! Bring any donations to room 300. THANKS!

The GLO staff will be holding conferences with all families during the week as well as the following week. Look out for sign ups on your child's sign out binder.

Health Week
In addition to parent teacher conference week, we will also be having our annual Health Week. All of our enrichment classes and activities will be health themed and we will have different presenters visit the site. Students will also be taking health related neighborhood field trips during this week. Stay posted for a permission slip and more information.
Also, please let us know if you or anyone you know from the health industry would be interested in presenting to the students. In the past we have had police officers, firefighters, and doctors, just to name a few. We would also be interested in dentists, any one that works or knows someone who works at the SPCA or Red Cross. Please contact Beth or Becca if you are interested in presenting.
We will end the week with our healthy buffet. If any parents would like to donate their favorite healthy treats, please do so. Also, if you would like to lend us a juicer, that would be wonderful as well.
