REPEAT for "Coach"
This year's Double A Championship could not have been more dramatic. The Center Grove Trojans (from Greenwood, IN) entered this year's Tournament not only as the returning champion, but doing it for their Head Coach that unexpectedly passed away only weeks prior. With emotions running high, the Trojans fought their way back into the Championship game with tough wins against the Anthony-Wayne Generals and Olentangy Raiders; only to find themselves toe to toe with the Olentangy Seminoles. It was a defensive battle that could have went either way and became only the 2nd time in Trojan Horse history that the Championship game went into overtime (also 0-0 three years ago when Dublin and Hilliard faced off). Center Grove got the ball first and scored, but missed a risky two point conversion pass into the endzone. Then it was Olentangy's turn and you could hear a Center Grove coach yell to his defense "Now we are playing for Coach" from the sideline. Olentangy gave their all and in the end, came up only about a foot short of making a first down to keep the OT drive alive and ending the game 6-0 Center Grove - making the Trojans the very first team to earn two Trojan Horse Victories (let alone back to back). And if that conclusion were not dramatic enough, perhaps the most amazing moment came at the end of the game when Center Grove (team, family, fans and all) walked to the middle the of the field to invite the Olentangy Seminoles to do the same. It was where the two teams met and the Center Grove graciously thanked Olentangy for providing such an excellent game that surely had their lost Coach smiling from above. In respect to a Center Grove tradition, they then asked the Olentangy team, family, and fans to join hands and end in a prayer. Both teams then watched and applauded as both teams were rewarded their trophy and medallions. What an amazing story and testimony to sportsmanship to have these two teams, from two different states, gather and offer their respect to one and other. Virtually strangers gathered together and united for a mutual love of the game and the quality life lessons we learn along the way. It was both and honor and a privilege for the Trojan Horse to be the venue for such a memorable moment.

The First time is the Charm
The Richmond Bulls (from Richmond, MI) made the most of their first entry to the Trojan Horse by capturing the Trojan Horse title in the Single A Bracket. It may not have had quite the story line as found in the Double A Bracket, but rest assured it was not short of it's own excitement. The Bulls path to the Championship game started with an early win over Defiance, that lead to an outstanding game against a VERY TOUGH Vienna team from West Virginia (a team that went on to win the Iron Horse). With that 14-6 win, they then found themselves against a Trojan Horse regular, the Marion Mavericks. The Mavericks have always provided the Tournament with a highly competitive team and has a history of keeping their games very close (win or loose). But as hard as Marion fought to keep the game close, the Bulls found a way to a 18-0 victory and their first Trojan Horse Title. The Richmond team, family, and fans were a welcomed addition to the Tournament and we eagerly await their return to defend the Title.

More Results
It was another outstanding year and one that was once again defined by the high caliber of teams that participated. If has been said once, it has been said a thousand times: we strongly believe this Tournament is as much the visiting teams as it is ours. It is those guests that really make this Tournament special and we are simply fortunate enough to be the host. As always, there was plenty of action to be found over the course of the weekend and you now can find the Final Bracket Results Online. It was an amazing Tournament and we already looking forward and making plans for next year.
