Four Days Until Drawing
4 Days until Bracket Drawing THIS Sunday will be the Official Bracket Drawing for the the 2011 Trojan Horse Tournament (2:00pm Oct.23rd @ Troy Fricker's (back banquet room)).  We now have 15 teams have PAID and locked in for this year's event (noted by "$" on "The List" shown to the left).  However we have also had another couple teams submit applications, which still leaves us with 9 Teams we are still awaiting Team Entry Fees.  Most of those teams have indicated "the check is in the mail" and once we receive those, that will ONLY leave 3 more open spots.  So if you have not done so yet, please send in your $400 Team Entry Fee so that you will be included in this Sunday's Bracket Drawing.  In the event we have not reached 27 PAID teams by the time of the Drawing, those bracket spots will simply be left open and assigned on a first come first served basis by time of receipt of Entry Fee.  Any spots not assigned prior to kick off will simply become first round byes (same as last year).
Back to Defend Their Title
Center Grove Trojans
Last year the Trojan Horse had the privilege of hosting some Trojans from out of State and they were nothing less than spectacular to watch.  These Trojans hailed from Greenwood, Indiana (Center Grove school district) and made a very impressive showing with their first entry into this Tournament.  The Center Grove Trojans captured the 2010 Trojan Horse AA Championship with none of their opponents scoring more than a single touchdown.  Olentangy was one of the rare teams that managed to score a touchdown on these mighty Trojans, but lost 20-7 in the AA Bracket Championship Game (Olentangy returns again this year, but with two teams and we are sure either would love an opportunity at a rematch).  However, this return was almost not possible though, whereas the Center Grove Head Coach unexpectedly passed away a couple weeks ago.  The tragic loss struck the community he had coached for 16 years with great shock, but upon his funeral and reflection of what he would truly want, the team has decided to continue on and compete in a sport he loved so much.  We share in their loss, but admire and welcome their return.
The Eager Beavers Return
Beavercreek Eager Beavers
The Eager Beavers of Beavercreek, Ohio will be making their third entry into the Trojan Horse with only one team this year (last year it was two and three the year before).  Beavercreek is one of the many area teams that compete in the Western Ohio Junior Football Conference (WOJFC)(which also includes Miamisburg and Lebanon).  Any members of the WOJFC are always welcome to attend, but Beavercreek has been by far the longest running participant from that League.  In past years the Beavers had some close games, but that was with multiple teams.  This year we shall see if their single entry will be their key to a Championship this year.
Special Rates on Hotel Rooms
Alliance Tour and Travel
Hotels continue to fill and they will only become more scarce and expensive as the Tournament date draws closer.  This year we are proud to announce Alliance Tour & Travel as "The Official Travel Partner for The Trojan Horse".  Alliance will be your personal assistant for all your Hotel Reservations and will be offering special Group Rates for anyone that books hotel rooms Tournament weekend.  Please note, special group rates may NOT be available by calling any of the local hotels direct.

As Tournament time continues to get closer, it is highly recommended you book your rooms early before the local hotels begin to fill.
