June 2011
Greetings!
We have always considered 'giving back' one of our core values at Africa Adventure Consultants. Our partnership with AfricAid started just a few years ago and we are very proud that our support of this excellent non-profit has grown so quickly. It must be a testament to the great work they are doing to help provide educational opportunities to girls in Tanzania! Most recently, we helped organize and support the very first "AfricAid's Tanzania" safari, taking 12 special guests for an insider's look at the girls' homes, schools and communities. The special program also included a fantastic wildlife safari and raised $20,000 for the organization. Read on for safari stories from the AfricAid trip, or call us to create some stories of your own.

AfricAid's Tanzania Raises $20,000
Having recently returned from AfricAid and Africa Adventure Consultants' first guided trip to Tanzania, I still can't believe what a fantastic experience we all had. We witnessed AfricAid's programs first-hand and experienced Tanzanian culture through school and home visits. The group visited two primary and two secondary schools but one thing was constant; there are thousands of bright, spirited, beautiful children who simply want to learn and make their lives and communities better.
This trip enabled us to take our support of these children to the next level. And, of course, we were thrilled to get the 'classic safari experience' in Tanzania's top reserves... Tarangire, Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti. In one day, we saw 30 lions and one leopard - and that's just the cats! Read my full trip report on the AAC blog.

Zambia/South Africa Yellow Fever Rules
South African authorities have amended their requirements for passengers travelling from Zambia to South Africa. From July 1st every passenger landing in Johannesburg or Cape Town from Zambia, including transit passengers, will need to have a Yellow Fever vaccination certificate. Please also remember that some other countries, such as Tanzania and Kenya, require yellow fever inoculations when you arrive from another yellow fever endemic country. So, if you are arriving directly from Europe or the U.S. and you have not stopped in or visited another yellow fever endemic country, you currently are not required by law to have a yellow fever vaccine. For more information and recommendations for inoculations, please visit the CDC website on Traveler's Health.
