Alumni: The Road Less Travelled!
Mahale Dining Tent - Nomad Tanzania
Think you've been there and done that?  Maybe you've been lucky enough to witness the wildebeest migration.  Or perhaps you've caught a tiger fish in the Okavango Delta.  Do you have fond memories of seeing lions with a kill in Kruger?  Keep in mind that there are an endless variety of things to do in Africa, and many of them are well off the beaten path.  In that spirit, this month we're featuring our Wildest Tanzania itinerary for our AAC alumni.

This rare experience lets you visit two parks in Western Tanzania; Katavi National Park and Mahale Mountains National Chada Katavi Hippo - Nomad TanzaniaPark.  Miles from anywhere (including roads), these two camps epitomize remoteness and take the traveller back to the days of 'Out of Africa' legend.

In Katavi, your camp is Chada Katavi, a rustic, yet luxurious retreat with a million acres of wilderness at your doorstep.  Here, you can witness the last great herds of buffalo in East Africa, massed at up to 1,000 head.  Crocs, lion, elephants and hippos in unfathomable densities...no chance you'll be bored here!  For added adventure, you could even try fly camping!

In Mahale Mountains National Park, you will stay at Greystoke Mahale.  That's right - Greystoke - as in apes.  Here you will have thMahale Chimpanzee - Nomad Tanzaniae unique opportunity to track chimpanzees.  The park is inhabited by the greatest number of primate species of any Tanzanian national park, including an estimated 700-1,000 chimpanzees in a dozen communities.  We can promise you that spending an hour with these great apes will be an experience you will never forget!  When you're not trekking, you'll be able to relax in this very comfortable, classic old-style safari camp set on the shores of Lake Tanganyika.

If you book before January 31, 2011 for travel in 2010 or 2011, we can offer special savings of $1,350 per person on this amazing journey.  Call us for details or to start planning your trip.
