 AAC and AfricAid!

At AAC we are always looking for ways to be involved and make a difference in Africa. As reported in an earlier edition of Insider, Kent serves on the board of AfricAid, a non-profit organization that supports the education of young girls in Tanzania. We have two events that we want to be sure you are aware of so that you will have a chance to get to know AfricAid better!

First, AfricAid has developed a new, signature fundraising event AfricAid Student Elizabeth Davidtaking place in Denver called 'Art & Soul'.  AAC are one of the event sponsors, and many of our staff will be there to enjoy this amazing evening on Saturday, October 23rd.  During the event, AfricAid will dramatically bring to life the stories of African women through digital storytelling, African art and dance, and locally-created media.  AfricAid founder and executive director Ashley Shuyler had this to say about this weekend's event:

"Through our Art and Soul event, AfricAid has been able to raise enough funds to support hundreds of Tanzanian students in their educational and professional goals. We are thankful that Africa Adventure Consultants has helped to make this possible through their sponsorship of the event this year! It is a true privilege to partner with a travel company that seeks to make such a significant and lasting impact in the lives of African students."

To purchase tickets to Art and Soul, visit AfricAid's website.

Another very exciting upcoming partnership event we have with AfricAid is a signature safari to Tanzania.  AfricAid's Tanzania takes AfricAidyou to the highlights of the Northern circuit, as well as visiting AfricAid projects in the area. Experience an amazing safari, while making a difference in Africa!

AfricAid executive director Ashley Shuyler is excited to share the Tanzania she loves with supporters and had this to say about the May 2011 trip:

"AfricAid is grateful for the opportunity to partner with Africa Adventure Consultants -- and for the impact they are having in the lives of young Tanzanian women. Through our 2011 safari in Tanzania, each of the participants will change a young woman's life forever. The trip cost includes a two-year sponsorship for a Tanzanian student to attend school and participate in AfricAid's leadership training program. And best of all, participants will each have the chance to meet and spend time with the young woman who they support!"

If you are interested in supporting girls' education in Tanzania by attending the Art & Soul event or participating in this life-changing safari, call us to start planning!
